It is hard to describe sometimes how painful and frightening it was for the residents to be pulled from everything familiar and taken to a new place to live. Alice took it hard, I think, at first she thought she had done something wrong and had been evicted.
It was a powerful thing to see the residents ask for help in finding their rooms and getting back. The Mansion staff has worked day and night for days to make sure every room is neat, clean and that everyone’s possessions are where they remembered them being. That took a lot of work.
Alice was very happy to be back at the Mansion, to see familiar faces, walk down familiar hallways, get her usual seat in the dining room, and most of all, get to sit down and rest in her own room.
I call Alice my girlfriend, we always dance together when there is music.
