Today, another chapter in our daring experiment with technology, culture, media and the world of animal love. My new radio talk show “Talking To Animals” will be on from one to three p.m. today (and repeated tonight between 8 and 10 p.m.
You are invited to join in this experiment – community radio meets the animal world. You can call 866 406-9286 or 802 442-1010, or e-mail me anytime (now, during the show, later) with your questions and comments, [email protected].
This is community radio, your show. Without your participation – calls, e-mails – there is no show. Can I really make this show work? I’m beginning to think it is possible.
The physical location is WBTNAM1370 in Bennington, Vt. but the location hardly matters, with radio apps and new streaming technology, anyone can hear it anywhere there is WI-FI and electricity. You can also download a free app, Simple Radio is the one I used. You can also listen to our podcast, WBTNAM.US.
We have listeners everywhere. There is no “local” anymore, we get callers from all over the country and some of the world.
Today, we’ll talk about training, breeding and how to get a dog, and I’ll catch up on mail I haven’t read on the air yet.
Maria who has been named a roving correspondent, will join me during the second hour to talk about our lives together with animals, we hope today to talk about how we handled Fate, a very unique training challenge for both of us. Maria is now a regular weekly guest.
So give me a call, I love to talk with people and hear their problems and thoughts about animals. We are beginning to develop a regular corps of callers, that is so helpful, thanks.
Send me your questions: [email protected] or call: 866- 406-9286 or 802 442-1010. The goal is to create an interactive, useful and civil broadcast about animals, we might be the first one in the country. I don’t really know how to measure the success of this experiment, I think it will ultimately stand or fall on the number of people who call or message me.
So if you want to join this daring experiment – we are really going against the grain – jump on in the water.
You can also support this worthy and necessary community radio station. Check out their WBTN Amazon Wish List. There is only one item left, a compressor for $229 plus some much less expensive Amazon gift cards. You can support the station either way, and thanks.
