The wallpaper scraping, sanding, spackling and painting is finished, the room is painted, and our bed is in place, we have some new carpets and wall hangings, and we are sorting through a dozen possibilities to hang on the wall.
I love the wall hanging on the far side that was inspired by Georgia O’Keefe’s white place, a stunningly beautiful formation near her home in Abiquiu, New Mexico. Maria and I visited the white place on our trip there and she has kept this piece, I don’t believe she has even tried to sell it.
Maria envisioned a room that was soft and warm and intimate. Before this restoration, there was stained and decaying wall paper all over the room. We unearthed a cowboy motif on one wall, but he didn’t survive the scraping and painting.
We have a lot more things to move and hang in the room, this photo is of three fourths of the bedroom, it goes on awhile behind me.
We have much loved transforming our farmhouse together, it is one of the few creative works we did together. But she is the architect and visionary, our house is her beautiful visions.
Looks like a wonderful peaceful sanctuary .
your bedroom is a beautiful place! How about a hanging fabric inspired mobile hanging somewhere in there? LOL!
You are kind, sharing this sacred space with all of us. It is lovely
