It seems I have three working dogs. Red, of course, is the ultimate working dog, poised, calm, responsive. Fate has a working heart but the spirit of Ferdinand The Bull, she lives for the joy of it, not the grind. Bud is in a class all by himself. He loves to work around the sheep, herd the chickens, tear through the pasture. I guess he is looking for rats and mice, I wish him luck.

When I call out “let’s go to work,” all three dogs are at the door, then off to the gate. They all love to go to work.
