Life Below Zero: Being A Sheep

by Jon Katz

Sheep know how to organize their lives. They share food, pay little mind to the weather, their wool is getting thick and beautiful, Maria will be happy with her yarn in the Spring, she sold the recent batch out in a couple of hours. The other mind, I came outside and the thermometer said – 15 and the sheep were sitting out in the snow as if it were Spring, taking the first rays of the sun.

Sheep are the steadiest of creatures, I am reminded this week that they are desert and mountain animals, their thick coats protect them from almost everything.
