My plans for lifting the spirits of the displaced Mansion refugees have been set back a bit by the awful weather we are having here – cold, snow, ice and flooding. Not good weather for outings.
I am offering puzzles, DVD’s, cookies, books, readings and craft kids. Today, I picked up a cake from the Round House Cafe and Bakery, a $40 chocolate cate with vanilla eclair filling inside and some raspberry something or other.
We are going to make art with the residents still at the Mansion, or those who have been evacuated until repairs to the Mansion have been completed. This has been hard
I’m bringing it over to the Danforth Adult Care Center shortly and I’ll read some stories to the residents, it looks like they might be back in the Mansion by February 1st. As far as they are concerned, it can’t be fast enough.
I think they’ll like the cake, it’s a beautiful work of art, thanks Lisa Carrino. This has been such a hard time for the Mansion, for the residents, the staff, and the families of the residents. The end does appear to be in sight.
If you wish to help support the efforts to assist the Mansion residents during this time of stress and disruption, you can send a contribution to me via Paypal, [email protected] or you can send a check to me Jon Katz, Mansion Fund, P.O. Box 205, Cambridge, N.Y., 12816.
There are a couple of weeks to go, I won’t quit on them, they really need help and support. Thanks for yours.
