I hope I will always remember to recognize the great work of the Mansion aides, but this month, I’m making a special effort to thank them for what they do. A kind of month-long celebration.
Thanks to the Army Of Good, we’ve done the gift cards, cookies and buttons for the Mansion’s aides. My new idea, which I wrote about yesterday was to go to Heather Mitchell’s Over The Moon shop on Main Street and ask for her help in putting together some gift bags for the holidays.
Heather and I talked about some ideas, and she texted me a photo of the bags this morning, I love what she did.
The contents (14 kits) include surprise balls with goodies inside, an animal spirit carving w/guide), one hand-woven bracelet, one zipper-pull charm, one wish capsule necklace, stone point or celestial pewter, 2 recycled flip-flop bracelets, all wrapped in boxes with bows.
I was planning to surprise the aides, but I also have to hew to my promise to be transparent in all things I do with my money or other people’s money. So I decided to stay on track and be open.
I think they will get a kick out of knowing.
I love having no secrets, it is profoundly liberating. I’ve just forgotten how to keep secrets and my head used to be full of them. I am learning that it is so much more fun to give than to receive. These people sure deserve it.
It will cost $187 plus tax.
