We woke up this morning to an oddly beautiful morning sight, a giant tractor trailer had run out of control and slid off of the road right in front of the farmhouse.
No one was hurt, but the cab was all mashed up, and we had a strong preview of what might have happened of this huge truck had slid off the road on our side.
Up here, this is not all that big of a deal, and soon, two giant rescue tow trucks arrived with cranes, lifted the cab up, replaced it with another one, and the truck was driven off.
There is nothing left on that side of the road but a huge gouge in the hillside. The power of that truck is frightening, it is so great that no one and no car or truck (or farmhouse) was in front of it.
The roads are slick today, and I am grateful for the new snow tires I just had put on the car this morning. And glad the driver was not injured.
I don’t know why, but in the early light the scene struck me as somewhat beautiful. I was eager to take a photo of it.
