Yarn Sells Out! A Bedlam Success Story For Maria

by Jon Katz

This fall, Maria got more wool and yarn to sell than she had ever sold or  received. We put up a video of the yarn and it all sold in a day. It a happy story for Bedlam Farm, of course, but I think it is more than that.

It is also about art and how it can be sold, and about authenticity and how it matters, and the use of new tools for an artist living in an isolated country village who has learned how to make a successful career out of being the artit she wants to be.

The camera likes Maria, she is sincere in a marketed world, and honest in a sometimes deceiving one. She loves what she does, and it shows. Come and see. This is good news for the sheep. On Bedlam Farm, everybody pays their own way.

  1. I have made several pairs of convertible mittens from Maria’s yarn. The mittens are very warm. It is wonderful yarn . Hoping to get some red in the spring.
