(You can be a “Golden Leash”  sponsor/support an hour of “Talking To Animals” for $25, a great bargain in modern broadcasting, you can name the hour for anything you wish, a dog, cat, person or cause. Just send the $35 to WBTN Am, 407 Harwood Hill, Bennington, Vt., 05201, on donate on the website, I am assured it will be working  by Wednesday.)

Everything about this show is an adventure, including my talking with a mike in my mouth. I have a good feeling about the show.

Some people have asked if I will be hosting my radio show “Talking To Animals” on Wednesday because of Red’s illness.

I will, for sure. My opening topic is “Can You Love A Pet Too Much?” I will explore the boundaries of life, cost, grieving and mental health. You are invited to listen and call.

Things like Red’s illness is the very stuff I want to talk about on a radio show, I don’t want to run away from our lives with animals. And I will know a lot more then about Red’s illness and his life than I do now. This is where loving an animal gets real.

The show is Wednesday, November 28, from one to three p.m. on WBTN.

The station’s website has been down over the weekend, but it will be up and running and the station has signed up with ITunes ($100 a year) so their app can be carried there as well (WBTNAM1370), so by Wednesday everything will be working again. The site is up now.

You can also download a free radio app (like Simple Radio), the reception is great anywhere there is a smartphone with good cell service or WI-FI.

On Wednesday, you can live stream the broadcast here.  And donate here.

We are  getting some compelling calls from all over the country, and some of the world.

I  hope we can keep it up and build on it, the rumor is that the show is catching fire. The broadcast depends on your calls, the numbers are 802 406-9286 if you are living in the listening area, 866 406-9286 for everybody else.

You can also e-mail me with your questions anytime, including during the show: [email protected].

So far we’ve gotten calls from Canada, California, France and Italy, among many other places. Thomas Toscano, the station director and I (he does the broadcast with me and manages the calls also) are having a blast.

That station has added one or two things to its WBTN Amazon Wish List, which the Army Of Good cleaned out over the weekend. Thanks for supporting the list, the station building, which looks like an after-the-war shot, is beginning to like as if it is occupied by humans.

(The much discussed weasels are still living in one of the walls, it’s fine with Thomas). You can  listen to a podcast of the show here. (Make sure to download it.)

Thanks for supporting me, your pets and animals, and community radio, so urgently needed in our time. I think this is the first time I have ever broadcast from a radio station with a bomb shelter, this tells you when the station was built. (The equipment is still there, if the station doesn’t make it as a live station, it would make a great museum.)
