This holiday season, I set out to try to give some thanks and recognition to some of the most valued and important people anywhere – the aides and caregivers at the Mansion and many other places who are tasked with caring for those on the edge of life.

We gave each of the 13 Mansion aides a $50 Amazon Gift Card, and starting this week, I’m bringing a box of holiday cookies every Monday through New Year’s.

The cookies are  placed in the Mansion office where everyone on the three shifts can get some. I gave the first set to Megan and  Hollyanne Wednesday morning.

I’m going over to the Mansion this morning with Maria to say hello to the residents who have no families to visit with them. A bunch of hugs, I think, and pats for Red.

This afternoon, we are having a Thanksgiving dinner at the farm for ourselves and some friends who have no families to go to today.

I’m also photographing each of the aides, they  ever cease to inspire and amaze me with their love and dedication.  I wish them all the happiest of holidays.
