WBTN, the community radio station which broadcasts my new weekly show “Talking To Animals,” has just published a new Amazon WBTN Wish List in its efforts to rebuild and strengthen itself.
The station needs absolutely everything (we got them some toilet paper last week). The wish list is eclectic, a portable hard drive, convection oven, a wooden frame for official permits and certificates and some Amazon Gift Card options so the station can build up some money for desperately needed improvements and repairs.
The station was built during the Korean War, nothing much has changed in the building since.
If you want to support my show and the station, you can also support (sponsor) an hour of the broadcast for $25. You can send the money through the stations’ donate page, or you can mail a check to WBTN, 407 Harwood Hill, Bennington, Vt., 05201. Just mention “Talking To Animals.”
I think the word is getting out about “Talking To Animals.” You can call the program – Wednesday, one to three p.m. – at 866 406 9286, and live stream it here.
You can download a free radio app – I use Simple Radio – and listen to the station anywhere in the world where there is electricity. You can hear a podcast of the show here. (You have to download it to hear the whole broadcast).
You can e-mail me your questions about dogs or any animal, and I’ll read them before and during the show (I keep my iphone next to me during the broadcast). E-mail me the questions anytime: [email protected].
The one hour “Golden Leash Supporter” option is catching fire, we have more than a dozen people who have signed up already.
It is essential in my mind that community radio find its niche and survive. Otherwise, we are left only with corporate media and we can all see how that is working out.
I hope to hear from you, we are seeking to create a new kind of animal conversation – civil and thoughtful and useful. Call if you can, e-mail me if you can’t. I love your questions. And thanks for sponsoring hours, you don’t have to be General Motors to advertise: 866 406-9286.
