Nobody can say the needs of Community Radio Station WBTNAM, 1370, are deluxe. A new Amazon WBTN Wish includes toilet paper, a desk organizer and some legal pads for six dollars.
I will confess up front that I couldn’t resist buying the toilet paper, even though, at $16, it is the most expensive item on the Wish List. The remaining items are $6 and $10.
When I say Thomas Toscano and the station need everything there is, I’m not kidding. For newcomers, WBTN AM 1370 is the home of my new radio show, “Talking About Animals,” on the air every Wednesday, from one to three p.m.
Please e-mail me your questions about dogs and other animals, you can do this before, after and during the show: [email protected]. You can also call in with your questions: 866 406 -9286. You can live stream the show to your phone, tablet or computer by going to WBTNAM.org and clicking on “live.”
Community radio is different, for sure. I can’t imagine CBS or Fox News Or CNN asking the public’s help in buying toilet paper. I believe I need to support Community Radio in every possible way, this stations are tiny islands of freedom in the Corporate Media Diaspora.
Tommy Toscano, the station’s Executive Director, likes to sleep on the floor. I don’t dare ask.
There are only two items left on the Wish List, and nobody’s bank account will blink. Thanks for looking.
