Here’s a sneak preview of the new header for the blog, which will appear in early October. The blog has been redesigned. It’s sleeker and more beautiful and simpler, I am very excited about it.
I love Abrah Grigg’s new logo, she captured the very heart of the blog and it’s odd and idiosyncratic voice. Here, we take ourselves seriously, but not too seriously. Some of you are heartsick because we left off the donkeys, but hey, that is life on a farm.
The donkeys really don’t care.
The new redesign will make it easier for people to access the blog on smart phones and tablets which is how more than half of my readers get to read me. I’m grateful to Mannix Marketing for once again helping to make my vision of the blog come true.
When the redesign goes up, it will be quicker and easier for people to see the blog on computers, and on phones and other devices. I’m simplifying the blog and getting rid of some of the clutter and the little-trafficked parts and pages.
My blog emphasizes photos and words, and that’s what the new design also emphasizes. Many thanks to Abrah, check out her wonderful sketches, mugs and notecards. She is a major talent.
I appreciate Mannix Marketing, they have been my faithful partner since I started Bedlam Farm in 2007, they have held my hand while it has grown and become so successful. For years people have been telling me it’s silly to waste a lot of money on skilled Web designers, any kid can do it.
That is not true. Mannix was worth every penny I spent, I owe them a lot.
This design will take the blog to a new level, and keep it current with new technology and the changing tastes of readers. The content will not change, words, essays, photos. It will be faster and simpler for everyone to use.
The photos will be even bigger, they will bleed right off of the page. Every few years, I update the blog, I intend for it (and me) to remain relevant.
I am hoping to add an audio feature to the blog, where I can speak after each post and make a comment or two if it might be helpful.
Thanks for coming along for the ride, the best is yet to come. More details.
