Last summer, the Army of Good paid to rescue a stray cat roaming the Mansion grounds. We collected money to pay for spaying and shots. We waited while Mansion residents contacted their doctors to make sure there were no allergies.
After several months, the cat came in, was named Summer, and was admitted to the Mansion. She is a quiet and independent cat. She doesn’t love to be touched or cuddled. She goes in and out as she pleases, waiting by the door to go out and hunt, always coming in at night.
She mostly likes to sleep in Winnie’s room down on the lower floor, Winnie always leaves her door open a crack and has cat food and water near the door. Minnie hops up into Winnie’s bed and sleeps there on most nights.
Sometimes she appears in other rooms, to say hello, or check things out. She has been an invaluable boost to the residents.
In the afternoon, she often lounges in the Great Room. She pays no attention to Red, or to concerts by local musicians or tea parties. She seems to own the place. In the afternoon, different residents come bye to sit with her, brush her, talk to her.
She sees the vet regularly and is up to date on all of her shots. She has a great life, and you all gave her that, and it has been a great boon to the residents, desperate to be around young and living things.Thanks.
