Phase Two. We chose a bunch of high, round rocks from the pasture and wheel-barrowed them over to the herb mound. We made a base of the rocks, then poured a wagon load of donkey manure over the hole we had dug.
I went out and got some special garden soil and we put that on top of the manure. Then I headed out again to get some mulch. I sprayed the mound lightly with water. Next, the planting of the herbs and the spreading of mulch. And we had to build a barrier of some sort to keep the chickens away for a few days. It’s getting very hot, so time to scramble.
