The Back Porch reflects the soul of the farm, summer or winter. Or Spring. Yesterday I stopped at a farm stand and got some flowers for Maria to plant and hang in one of the gardens she loves. Wherever Maria goes, she spreads life behind her and around her.

On this weekend, we will spend a lot of time in quiet and solitude, tending the gardens,  writing, reading, perhaps to a move, perhaps out to dinner. We are savoring the idea of a quiet few  days together, perhaps in honor of the gardens. The barn cats have made the porch their warm weather headquarters, they bask in the sun there.

The Fiber Chair has emerged from the barn, the pots that live in my study in the winter are out.
