We are into the very grey days of November, tip-toeing towards winter, or rather winter is creeping up on us. The animals are on hay, we have all the firewood stacked, we are heating on the wood stoves, we have a great snow plow person.
We have a new (used) generator to help us keep hot water, refrigerators and computers going in big storms, we are not going to be able to use it this winter, it has to go in the woodshed, which is full of wood.
We hope for a peaceful winter, and Craig Watson, our electrician, will set it up in the Spring.
This morning, we set up the bird feeders and stocked them with seed and suet. The birds have not discovered them yet. I am happy to see there are a lot of books moving in and out of our Little Free Library, it has caught on.
We searched in local stores and online but a track ceiling light for the dining room, the last dark room in the farmhouse. We got a nice and inexpensive won online from Lowe’s, Craig will put it in next weekend.
This afternoon, we head to the movie in Williamstown, Mass. to see “The Square,” a controversial and quirky spoof about the insular world of snooty museums. Connie’s funeral service will be tomorrow evening.
Our friend Susan Popper returned to Long Island this morning, we had so much fun visiting and talking with her. Maria wants to go to a Mexican restaurant in Williamstown after the movie, I’m lobbying for Mexican. I will lose.
If it’s appropriate, I will review the movie.
Thank you for your inspiring little story. So sweet, I enjoyed reading it while having my morning coffee. It is cold and crisp here in Nashville, TN. I have my bird feeders full of sees and birds are enjoying. Would like to hear more about the birds that visit your home. I consider these birds are little Angels that visit us especially during this Holiday time. Happy Thanksgiving. Ash
