Our town was sparkling Sunday morning, the weather was cool and dry, the farmer’s market was open and crowded with fresh vegetables and breads, the Round House Cafe was open and people were sitting outside (I had the first crepe of my life, one made with a think slice of ham and egg). The Battenkill bookstore was open, and some townspeople were on the bench, watching a constant parade of people.
George Forss’s gallery was open, we went to pick up 17 more prints of my “Blue Heron” photograph, George has about 25 more prints to go. We will start shipping them out tomorrow.
How lucky I am to live in a small town with a beautiful independent bookstore that is open on Sundays, and a beautiful cafe in a restored historic building serving food like crepes for breakfast (Maria had a veggie omelet.)
I am happy to be in my town, Cambridge, N.Y. Community is very much alive here.
