Fate and Gus have become inseparable pals, they sit out in the yard together, chase each other around, play tug of war, and last night, Fate came over to Gus while he was sleeping in a corner of the dog bed and they took a nap together. It was a sweet thing to see, Gus is just a puppy but he was somehow something Fate needed and it feels like he’s been here for a decade. He’s an old soul, really, in a young body.

The border collies and Gus make a nice mix, really, all are hyper and energetic but in very different ways. That is a surprise to me, there has been no trouble among the dogs, they are a tight little pack. Red presides over this calmly and with no fuss.
