The boundary between art and life is always blurred around here, a few months ago Maria took some branches from the apple tree that we had trimmed off to keep the tree healthy and made a sculpture out of them and put it in the pasture. She planted some dill and gourds and flowers.
The donkeys and sheep have respected this work, they haven’t eaten it and have left the dill and gourds alone. There are even a few wildflowers in there. Maria is happy with this sculpture, it joins the fiber chairs and and several gardens as monuments to her own unique creativity.
Maria is creating all the time, she is a visual artist in every sense of the word, she sees are everywhere and makes art where there isn’t any. I did not think this work had a chance of surviving and it would have been okay if it didn’t.
