I used my Russian Petzval 58 lens to catch Flo, our barn cat, on one of her many thrones, a rocker out in the yard. The Petzval, which has to be hand and manually focused, blurs the background and uses the Russian glass to capture rich color. I like it for these special shots, this one really captures the feeling of Flo out resting under the apple tree.
Enjoy this photo a lot. This special Russian lens seems , to me at least, to capture both a fluid sense of time and motion as well as the moment of focus that would stop time. Love that contrast.
The lens picks up color in a very rich way and blurs the background to highlight the subject..I love it once in a while, it would wear me down every day. Thanks for the good words.
