Our Little Free Library is up and in place on the front lawn, it looks like it belongs there and has grown up out of the ground. I’ve seen some people stop to take a close look at it, but so far, no takers for the books. I’ve heard from other library owners that it usually takes weeks, even months, before people figure out what it is muster the courage to go and take a book.
We are very pleased to join this book-sharing and community building organization, now more than 40,000 strong.
We are in no rush for people to stop by, it takes time. And it’s great to have this symbol out on our front lawn.
This project feels nothing but good. We are now officially on the Little Free Library Map, which means people who are looking for libraries can find us. There is one other Little Free Library in our town, hopefully there will soon be more.
Some friends have urged us to add some children’s books to the library. We already have a couple, but it’s a good idea to add more, we love the idea of children – teenagers as well – checking out our books and reading.
