Robin went to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens Sunday, and she especially loved the cherry blossoms and wanted to eat them. I asked Emma is she had ever been angry at Robin, and she said no, not once. I asked her if Robin was always as happy as she looked int photos she sends me, and she said, she is very strong willed and when she is unhappy – as when somebody tries to take her spoon away – she can let loose with a bone-rattling shriek and wail.
Emma says Robin has already learned to shake her head vigorously – as in “no” – when somebody wants to take something from her that she wants to keep. But mostly, Emma said, she is as happy as she appears. She loves day care and sits and yaks with the other kids, she loves demonstrations, tall buildings, and furry things.
Emma says she has been to a zoo, but so far, pays no attention to the animals. We’ll see, I imagine the donkeys will get her interest. Donkeys relate to children in a particular way, perhaps because they look like giant stuffed animals.
We’ve ordered everything we think she will need for her visit at the end of May except for the baby monitor, that’s coming shortly.
