Lulu is a shy creature, she is the guard donkey, vigilant but moody. She is never aggressive, but sometimes she wants attention, sometimes she doesn’t. I love this about the donkeys. We love our dogs because they always want our attention, but donkeys, like cats, make their own decisions, they never give it all away.

Today, Maria and I sat out in the far pasture and we just watched the animals for awhile on this warm and windy day. Step by step, Lulu came towards me and just presented her self to me, she stood close by and waited for me to scratch her and talk to her. It was a sweet visit, I love Lulu very much.

We have been together for more than a decade now. She keeps an eye on me, and sometimes, comes to visit.
