This afternoon, it was cold and snowy, what the weather people call a wintry mix. If felt like November, not March. I had an itch to do some portraits at the Mansion, I love taking photos there. I ask every person if they are okay having their photo taken, and everyone (but one man) says yes. We don’t talk about it, and they don’t ask me any questions.

In the other world, I often meet people who are uneasy being photographed, or why say no. In the Mansion, people seem fearless and open. Joan has a face full of grace, she is gentle and quiet.
