Very happy to discover that the raging stream has subsided and the Ed Gulley Memorial Bridge is open again, we are re-connected to our woods. I’m going to out there this afternoon and visit the waterfall and do an “Inside Jon Katz” voice post fromĀ from Rainer Maria Rilke’s wonderful book “Letters To A Young Poet.”
I’m backing off acts of good today, we have accomplished so much. A new van for the Mansion, more than 60 Creativity Kits for refugee children, contributions to the Refugee Gift Page Time to give everybody’s wallet and mood a breather, time to breathe a bit and reflect on what it means to be good. On empathy and compassion.
This is a long haul, no sense in flaming out at the beginning. But what a week!
I felt good about myself and good about so many of you. It is so much better to do good than to argue about what is good. Thanks.
I have to get back into a book writing head for a few days and also just rest my head a bit, these past days have been intense and relentless, also exhilarating and exciting. Lots of things I want to write on the blog that have little to do with the outside world. We’ll see.
I took a short video of the bridge as it went dry and took us back to our woods. Two days ago, the bridge was under water and covered with ice. Winds have knocked a few trees down. Come and see.
