Is everyone leaving me, or is it just my fevered imagination?
This morning, Robin, Emma and Jay headed West for a week. Jay’s father has rented a house and gathered the immediate family so they can all get to know Robin and one another. Such a thing is beyond my experience, but it is a generous thing to do, and Robin left on her first airplane flight.
Emma was a bit concerned about her crying or having a fit, but I predict Robin’s thoughtful and observant demeanor will kick in. and she’ll take in the clouds.
I talked with Maria this morning, she is in the very beautiful village of Udaipur, so very different from Kolkata it was disorienting for her. She will be writing about it on her blog, she says it is extraordinarily beautiful and up in the mountains. I can tell she is eager to get home, and I think she will need some time to decompress and gather herself, it was a very emotional week on a lot of levels.
She is processing a lot of things, an emotional time I think.
Upstate New York is very different from Kolkata, it will take her a bit to re-adjust, I imagine. This week I’ll get some fresh salmon, her favorite food for Sunday, when she returns.
As for me, my Creative Fellowship finally came together. I got up at 3:30, showered and dressed, went straight to the computer and started writing. When Cassandra came, I even let her bring in the firewood. I’m finally getting it, and having a computer that works helps. Better late than never.
Robin and Emma and Jay will be out West for a week, I hope the sun shines brightly on them.
