Maria left for Kolkata today to teach the victims of sex trafficking how to make potholders and art so they can make a living as they rebuild their lives. I didn’t have much time to get lonely, as the farm was overwhelmed by a massive and continuing snowstorm – this one is lasting about 24 hours. I have spent almost all day shoveling and scraping snow off the roof. The animals have all been holed up in the barn, except for the pony Chloe, who is stomping happily around.
As I write this, Maria is still enroute to India, she will be traveling for a couple of days. In this voice post, I talked about what the day felt like, in between shoveling and hauling hay through the snow. My creative fellowship must be disrupted for a bit. Hopefully, help is on the way tomorrow.
Maria is a giant presence in my life, on the farm. There is a big hole here, a large void, but lots of living things to help fill it and care for. I have to be Mr. Nurture for the next two weeks.
Come and listen, I am excited about this new way to tell a story. Pictures, words, images.
