Ken Norman – he is moving so well, nearly a year after his double-knee replacement – rebuilt our pasture gate in less than an hour, it was pretty messed up. There was no latch, so even when carrying hay, we had to pause, turn around and try to put the chain on.
The bolts were upside down, which meant an enterprising pony could lit up up entirely using its nose. Chloe was working on it. I worked on it yesterday, putting down stones and dirt to keep pools from forming around where the animals stand – that can get dangerous in winter.
The gate is great now, it makes a huge difference, we can just push the gate and it latches. Great to know Ken, we have been fiddling with this gate for months, and had troubling finding people who understood farm gates Ken does.
