A couple of weeks ago, we closed off the North pasture for the winter, so that the grass can strengthen and grow next Spring. We forgot this water bowl, part of the detritus of any farm, and today I came upon it and was surprised to see that some beautiful yellow maple leaves had floated down from the big old Maple tree and settled in the water.
It was a beautiful still life, at least to me, another reminder that nature usually makes the best art of all.
