The Gang Of Four comes out to greet me in the morning as soon as they hear the gate chain clank. They are smart, they know the rhythms of he farm and the sound my movements and the dogs. Biddy is usually out front, Rosemary hangs back a bit, izzy and Griselle are not fazed by anything. I think these four like the camera, and are happy to pose for it.
They seem quite proud of themselves, and confident.
This group was all together before we brought them to the farm, and while they get along with the other sheep, and graze neaer them, they have a separate identity. This winter, I suspect there will be Romney lambs. They were living with an intact ram. We might have an even bigger gang
They have good life here, three different pastures, a roomy pole barn, an agreeable pony and guard donkeys. Their only bane is the dogs. They will be shorn on Columbus Day weekend at our Open House. The public is welcome.
