There is something intense and beautiful about animals who live off of nature, who feed on grass and brush and the greens and barks of the forest. When the sheep first enter the pasture, they move together, in a line or circle, there is a symmetry to it, a ballet, they eat quickly and efficiently.
Horses will eat forever, but sheep are more delicate, they graze, pause, graze again. When they are hungry, their heads go down, when they are full, their heads go up. They are always ready to leave a pasture, they do not need to be cajoled, like horses. Donkeys graze in much the same way sheep do, animals that eat low (goats eat high.)
I think the IR photos sometimes capture the drama of animals in nature.
