I looked at this photo this morning, of my wonderful dog Red, sitting in his favorite spot on the hill next to our farmhouse, watching over his sheep. Red is never happier than when he is sitting up there, keeping an eye on things, fulfilling his destiny and instinct.

He would sit up there all day if I let him, never moving an inch, never taking his eyes off of the sheep.

I wondered what to title the photo and the word “faithfulness,” came to mind, that is the word I think that most defines Red and my great love for him. He is faithful to the spirit of the dog, a good, kind and reliable soul. He is ever faithful, and I will try to do the same for him.
