My fever subsided a bit last night, I feel stronger but a bit wobbly this morning, but I really wanted to move around and we went for a walk in the beautiful woods. We heard the most beautiful sound, we figured out it was an owl talking to another owl out in the woods, a deep throated sound that echoed in the forest, the most beautiful kind of music. I’m going to get back to normal today, not taking any more temperatures, I’m better, so that means I’ll, I will be fine.
No need for doctors or pills on this round.
At noon, I’m going to Pompanuck Farms to meet with my friend Scott, our joint Tai-Chi/writing hour. Scott’s writing is coming along faster than my Tai Chi, so I have to bear down and focus on it. For some reason, it’s a hard form for me to master, walking is really the only exercise I have ever loved or mastered. But it is never too late to change. I’m taking my portrait lens, we’ll try it out again.
Good news for Scott. He’s acquired a cart-driven wood-fired oven to make pizza and bread much more quickly and efficiently. Friday night, he’s expanding the Round House Cafe into the park behind the restaurant building. Live music and wood-fired pizza. He’s excited. He’s planning to sell fresh-baked bread loves once he gets organized. Scott sees this new oven as an expansion of the cafe.
We’ll be there, the Gulleys are taking us out to dinner.
I’m extremely proud of Ed and Carol Gulley, so many older people flee from the new technology that offer them voice in meaning in the modern world, including many gifted writers. People are so afraid of putting themselves out there, and Ed and Carol Gulley have quickly and skillfully embraced this new idea, to advance their passion for farming and also to free their artistic spirits. Check out a lovely piece on their blog today about Jake, one of the great dogs they have known, in honor of Father’s Day.
(Ed and Carol will be at the June 25-26 Open House.)
