Cassandra is a vet tech at the Cambridge Valley Veterinary Clinic, she is part of the team there working on Red. They are all animal lovers there, Cassandra is quiet and has a special gift for communicating with animals and healing them. All of our dogs are especially fond of her, and happily turn themselves over to her care. Fate is crazy about her and Red trusts her completely.

Cassandra has a healer’s heart, it is part of her spirit.

She has one of those strong women faces I like to photograph, she is like Kelly Nolan from the Bog, she looks the camera squarely in the eye without hesitation or concern. Some people – men and women – are anxious, fearing the camera will judge them harshly.

Cassandra is happy with who she is. I think the key to portrait photography is taking portraits only of people I like. The camera knows this and does not fail me.

Some people accept themselves and who they are and meet the camera openly and with warmth. I’m happy to include  Cassandra in my growing portrait gallery of people in my life.
