My ego is always getting adjusted. More and more, when I go places, people ask if me if Red is coming, not if I am coming. At our Open Houses, people are eager to meet Maria and the dogs, I point the way. On Saturday mornings, I stop at the Round House Cafe to pick up coffee and scones for my writing class there, and Scott always asks if Red is coming.
So this morning, I brought him in, therapy tag and all to keep it legal. He shakes and whimpers when he sees Scott, the two of them have fused. This coming week, Scott and Lisa are launching their gofundme project to raise money to buy the building in which the cafe is housed.
It is up for sale, and they need to get it to preserve the cafe in our town. Scott is a dear friend of mine, and I love the cafe and see the profound need for it in our town. It does much good, it is the soul of our community. I’ll link to the gofundme project when it goes up and write about it, I think it will be ready towards the end of the week. Small amounts are welcome, the great thing about crowdsourcing is that if a lot of people give small amounts, they can work.
Meanwhile, I think Red is becoming the town therapy dog. Maybe we can put up a stand and charge 5 cents a hug.
