There was a special quality to Maria’s sunrise morning greeting from Chloe, her pony. We thought she was very sick the other night, it was a bit scary, but she is Fine. Maria was especially pleased to see Chloe waiting for her at the gate, and the pony, usually impatient and demanding at feeding time, seemed to greet Maria in an especially gentle and affectionate way. They both seemed grateful to me, for one another, for a sunny day, for their lives.
