Fate wastes little or no time worrying about the weather, she loves to tear through the ice and snow, running as fast as her long legs will carry her. Fate is a bit like Dennis The Menace. I wanted to strangle her several times today. FIrst when she tried to eat the stuff in the cat litter. Then, when she stalked the cat. Then, when she tried to jump up and into the chicken coop. Then, when she tried to eat the food Maria left for the chickens. Then, when she came running into the house and jumped onto my lap, nearly knocking over a cup of tea. Then, when she tried to eat the trash in the bathroom trash can.
Then, when she chased a hen across the yard. Otherwise, she was an angel. That was just in the morning. I remember the nightmare of having a small and active child in the house all day during bad weather. You just wanted to stick your head in a bucket of dry ice. A hyper-active border collie pup is like that, only ten times worse.
I finally wore her out a bit by taking her out to run in the pasture. It was that or strangle here, and since I love her, that wouldn’t work for me. Tomorrow, a 50 degree rise in temperature, and heavy rains. Think of the mud she can splash in.
