Maria and I went to Bejosh Farm Monday afternoon to meet Jon the calf, twin brother to Maria the calf. Jon and Maria might be coming to Bedlam Farm for the summer, and to be there for our Open Houses, Ed Gulley may do a milking demonstration. Jon is just a few days old, but is full of himself, Ed is bottle feeding him.

Maria is falling in love with her bovine namesake, at least one of them will be here in a few months, perhaps two. Jon is affable and eager to eat. Ed loves his cows. He sometimes lies down on the ground with them so he can breathe the air they are breathing and make sure it is healthy.

In the next week or so, he will start up his own blog on his life, his art, and the life of the farmer. I am excited, and will keep everyone posted. Ed is a natural story-teller and blogger and he has some of the best animal stories and experiences anywhere. As we were talking, the clouds parted and a burst of sunlight came streaming into the barn.
