Whispers Of The Winter Pasture

Whispers Of The Winter Pasture

Winter whispered to us a bit this morning, perhaps just to let us know that it was still coming, in its own way and in its own time. The superstitious farmers insist winter will show a savage self come January, but I don’t think so. I think winter has already shown itself this year. We’ll see. I don’t pretend to know what the weather will be, I try and accept it and not speak poorly of it, no matter what it is.

This was Fate’s first peek at snow, if she noticed it cared, she didn’t let on. She just went straight to the sheep. I imagine this dusting will be gone by noon. A quiet weekend planned for us, no plans really. Some chores, work around the house, reading. Lulu is still limping badly, our farrier Ken Norman returns tomorrow. We are planning to go see Pamela Rickenbach of Blue Star Equiculture on Sunday. We’ll see what happens.
