I was led to this tree trunk by Fate, who chased a chipmunk – he was as fast as she was – up the trunk and into this tree, which I imagine is his home for the winter, I could see trails of seeds and nuts leading into it. I imagine the chipmunk in there with an Iphone, a flat screen TV and rows and rows of nuts and seeds. Maybe a space heater and some snacks. It’s a good spot, an oddly beautiful trunk, and even Fate can not get up there and bother him.
I suspect he is thumbing his nose at her, perhaps calling her names, squeaking loudly and forcefully. She will be back, but I think she has met her match. I love the angle of the tree, and the photo of it.
