Fate and I are getting into it with the sheep, she is testing them, learning how to use her developing eye, standing in her truth, it seems to me. She is going nose to nose with the sheep, starting to back them up, control them. This is such a critical time for a young border collie, I have to do it right, I’ve talked to three different herding trainers now, and understand what I’m doing well and what I need to do better. We have been testing the sheep, getting them into corners (Red as a backup) and I see Fate getting stronger every day.
This is an exciting for me and Fate, this morning, I got down on the ground and Fate put the eye on Deb, she backedĀ her up four or five feet. Huzzah! She can’t do this while running, she can only do it while standing.
