The nights are cool, the days warm, so there is a heavy mist over the farm in the morning, Maria led a Noah-like March to the rear pasture, which has been seized for rotational grazing. But farmsĀ always have surprises, and ours was to learn that there were all kinds of apples on the ground, we don’t recall ever seeing them back there before.
Climate change has made life funky and unpredictable, too many apples are not good for sheep or ponies, we had a bit of a brawl getting Chloe out of there and even the sheep gave Red a hard time. Still, when I told Red to move the sheep and then brought them back to graze away from the apples, it was beautiful, and I thought you might like to get a sense of it. Come and see.
The farm is especially beautiful on a morning like this. Sheepherding with dogs is especially magical.
