Sometimes I look outside of the window, at my own life, and I have to blink. For a flash, I wondered who that woman was, out in the pasture, riding her pony at a trot around the fenceline. It is a beautiful thing to see, a stirring thing to see. I saw a woman and a pony in sync, riding easily and happily as one.

They have had their moments, their differences, two willful woman thrown together in life and circumstance, but when it works, it really works, it seemed like a breakthrough to me. Again and again, the two went around and around, each seemed to understand and accept the other. I can see why the struggle and hard work is worth it, when it works it is magical. There is something magical that occurs when an animal and a human work together, come together, talk to one another.

How nice to see it in my own backyard.
