What a gift to be able to see Fate evolve from the boisterous puppy to an amazing and wonderfully-bred animal whose instincts are beginning to emerge. Like Red, she circles around the apple tree to get out in front of the sheep, and like Red, she lopes at a beautiful, almost breathtaking strike. She is just about four months old, but she evolves every single day. She is bright and learns quickly. She is learning to control her instincts, to come out of her puppy herding trance when necessary, to lie down, even to stay awhile. I loved this shot of her, this is my destiny, I think, to work with dogs like this.
