We are in the second week of life with Fate, she is doing well. The major issue remaining is that she is intensely hyper inside the farmhouse, chewing, grabbing, mouthing, running in circles. When she gets the zooms, she goes into the crate, sometimes I put my food on a long lede and hold it, she usually keels over in a minute or two and falls asleep. She has not yet learned how to calm herself, which is why the time in the crate and the calming and obedience training is so important.
Red is showing her many things, but she is also teaching him some things, including how to play. Red is a serious dog, he is focused on his work and very calm inside and out of the house. In the past few days, Fate has challenged him to play, and he has begun playing, racing back and forth with Fate, sometimes flipping her over onto the ground. This is good for both of them, Red also teaches Fate some limits, if she gets too annoying, he will grown at her or put her onto her butt. She gets the message.
In the morning, she eagerly goes into Maria’s studio, chews on a toy and then sleeps quietly. Maria is very happy to have a dog back in the studio, Frieda’s ashes still sit on her desktop.
