Out To Pasture

In the British Isles, there is often little land for grazing, the farmers use their border collies to take the sheep out and find pasture, and bring them back. Here, we usually have enough land for grazing. But Red was trained mostly in Ireland, so we replicate the experience by taking the sheep out to the side pasture or rear pasture, where he sits with them while they graze, then brings them back when they are done. Always a neat thing to see.

I’m heading to Blue-Star Equiculture this morning to see Maria and the horses. Can you miss someone for one day? Embarrassing but true. Back this afternoon. Our friend Kim and Jack Macmillan took out to dinner last night because they thought I might be lonely and need some company. I think they were right, and I thank them. I have been alone much of my life and I am at ease with loneliness, it can be cleansing. But I didn’t know Maria for most of my life.
