Barn cats are solitary creatures, they are rarely head-to-head, this morning Minnie and Flo came to the same place and put their heads together. It seemed to me that they were communicating in the way that animals do sometimes – they come close and share images with one another. Perhaps Flo and Minnie were thinking of the barns, of the hay bales, of the mice, and of the cold. Perhaps they were sensing Spring, and getting back outside and hunting in the meadow, and sleeping in the hay bales, and sunning themselves in the garden.
