The “Saving Simon: How A Rescue Donkey Taught Me The Meaning Of Compassion,” is heading to Bucks County Pa. On March 15, I will be speaking on behalf of the Nor’western Readers Canine Assisted Learning Program. My friend Deborah Glessner, a fellow photographer, is a member of the group and she has graciously invited me to come and speak on behalf of her animal therapy group, which helps children read.
I’ll be speaking on March 15 at 2 p.m. and also joining 12 people for a private dinner. The group is selling tickets to the dinner as part of their fund-raising effort. I will be happy to sign and personalize any books people bring me, books will be available at the talk. This is a good cause, close to my heart and Maria is joining me, Bucks County, Northeast of Philadelphia, is a beautiful place, there are great places to see and wonderful museums to check out.
More details are available in the group’s newsletter. The assisted reading program is eight years old. It’s hard raising money for non-profits, it’s a good place to help if you are so inclined. If you are interested in hearing me speak about “What Animals Mean To Us,” or having dinner with me, I’d get a reservation quickly, I think some have already sold.
